Eastbound local traffic can use the eastbound I-696 service drive and get back on the freeway at the Groesbeck entrance ramp. Westbound local traffic can use the service drive and re-enter westbound I-696 just past Van Dyke.

Traditionally we don't do sweeping in the winter months, but we've been blessed with a mild January.

This was kept in mind while planning this project, to stage getting the interchange done with Beck and the Haggerty bridge done before the start of the project on Sheldon. We want the entire M-14 project to be completed by Nov. 1, when the Sheldon railroad project could begin.

Essentially, this bridge has reached its life expectancy.

We have work going on practically everywhere. It is a worry. Its a worry for the motorists. Its a worry for the workers. Its a worry for their families. Every day they step out the door, and you just dont know what going to occur out here.

The SPUI design is much safer, because of longer exit ramps with increased storage that eliminate the backup on the freeway. And when you exit I-94 to Telegraph, with the SPUI design, the decision of which direction you want is made on the ramp, at a slower speed. Before, that decision was made on mainline I-94 itself.

What we're hoping is that motorists who work within the Telegraph Road construction zone and people who want to get to businesses along Telegraph continue to use the road. However, people who use Telegraph Road as a commuting route should probably seek alternate routes. That's what normally happens in cases like this.

We don't have the major 115-million investment we made in I-96 last year or the 120 million we invested over two years on I-94. This year it's spread out more, but it's still attending to areas with the greatest need for pavement repair and bridge rehabilitation.
