    This is a classic example of why the ethics rules have to be reformed. The Scotland trip was a trip to play golf, pure and simple, and private interests should not be allowed to finance those kinds of trips and gain influence with members in return.

    Actually, today was probably the worst I hit the ball off the tee for sure. I missed a lot of fairways on the front nine, but I tried to give myself chances and I tried to stay patient out there. I feel good with a seven-shot lead, that is nice, but there is a lot of golf to be played.

    To be consistently effective, you must put a certain distance between yourself and what happens to you on the golf course. This is not indifference, it's detachment.


    There are a lot of guys out here on tour that are going through personal problems. It's almost a reprieve to have those four or five hours to yourself to go play golf, knowing that you have to redirect your thoughts to playing each shot. It affects you more off the course.

    When I finally won a golf tournament, it was relief, it wasn't excitement, ... If I were to win (today), it would be a much more exciting win than the one at Disney World.


    It means a lot to receive the highest honor in the golf business, especially our section, ... I want to thank the members of the Emerald Bay community for the opportunity to serve the PGA.
