To be honest with you, I had a couple of good up and downs for par towards the middle part there when the wind got a little bit swirly. So making pars was good. Then the birdie at the last and not making any bogeys was key.

I wasn't trying to just make pars, because I figured there's some birdies out there, and the last thing you want to do is just go out there cruising and all of a sudden somebody catches you and it's tough to change gears at the time,
After missing so many, I had a feeling I was going to make it, ... That's one of my better pars of the year.
Jack absolutely has to have this. Even if he pars here, he needs to finish birdie-birdie-birdie to make the cut. If he misses, there's no chance.
I only missed one green and that was on a par-5 and I left myself with an easy chip, so I never really had to work for pars. It was a nice, stress-free round.
It was not one of those days where you can go out and make 16 pars and two birdies.
I played great. I missed two greens, 17 and five, and they were both on the fringe, ... Everything else was close. I never really struggled to make good pars.
The difference between here and Augusta is that the fairways are a little tighter here and the rough is a lot thicker. Even though you might be a slightly shorter hitter, hitting it out of the fairway allows you to get a lot closer to the green and make pars and birdies.

You know, it was a day for battling, and I really battled. I started out great, just striped it the first five or six holes, then missed a few fairways by a yard. It seems every time you miss by a yard, you're stone dead. Every time I was, it was a chip out. But I managed to get pars.
I played pretty good and made some good pars. I also only had two bogeys, so I played well.
It's not one of those days where you can go out and make 16 pars and two birdies. It's just the type of course where you're going to make good bogeys out there even playing smart. So you have to be able to bounce back.
Murphy won holes 12, 14 and 15 to turn a two-hole disadvantage into his fourth victory at this tournament and his second set of back-to-back wins (1999-2000). He played better than I did, ... He hit the ball better, putted better. He's played here his whole life. I just tried to make a bunch of pars coming in.
