When you talk about judges who would change the right of a woman to choose, who'd overturn Roe versus Wade, I think that is unlikely, ... And I have said that bluntly during the course of the campaign, that Roe versus Wade was inviolate.
But I don't believe in a quota system, and it may be that at this particular time, President Bush would like to have someone other than a woman, and I don't think his hands ought to be tied.
It is desirable to have a balance on the court. And two women, I think, are a minimum, ... My preference would be to see that kind of diversity maintained, but I don't believe anybody ought to tie the president's hands.
