Quotes about will (16 Quotes)

Critics want 'fresh,' ... But long-running television shows aren't built that way. When people tune into 'Will Grace,' they don't want new actors in the roles. They don't want a new setting They don't want to suddenly see it taking place in Miami. The freshness must be strictly internal, how we do little things. The big picture is not gonna change that much.

The Dead-Beat He dropped, more sullenly than wearily, Lay stupid like a cod, heavy like meat, And none of us could kick him to his feet Just blinked at my revolver, blearily Didn't appear to know a war was on, Or see the blasted trench at which he stared. 'I'll do 'em in,' he whined, 'if this hand's spared, I'll murder them, I will.' A low voice said, 'It's Blighty, p'raps, he sees his pluck's all gone, Dreaming of all the valiant, that aren't dead Bold uncles, smiling ministerially Maybe his brave young wife, getting her fun In some new home, improved materially. It's not these stiffs have crazed him nor the Hun.' We sent him down at last, out of the way. Unwounded - stout lad, too, before that strafe. Malingering Stretcher-bearers winked, 'Not half' Next day I heard the Doc.'s well-whiskied laugh 'That scum you sent last night soon died. Hooray'

Potential does not always ensure success. ... The greatest players have not always been the most endowed. In athletics, we often hear the phrase, 'He has the will to win.' I think this is wrong.... We can have the greatest will to do well. But unless we have prepared, it is of little use. Really, it should be the 'will to prepare.' Those who succeed have this will, whether it be in athletics, whether it be in school, whether it be in their chosen vocation, whether it be on a mission, or in almost any other phase of their life.

There is no cause to fear death it is but an incident in life. It is as natural as birth. Why should we fear it Some fear it because they think it is the end of life, and life often is the dearest thing we have. Eternal life is man's greatest blessing. If only men would 'do his will' instead of looking hopelessly at the dark and gloomy tomb, they would turn their eyes heavenward and know that 'Christ is risen' With all my soul I know that death is conquered by Jesus Christ.

It is possible to know when, at least basically, we please God. In fact, Joseph Smith taught that one of the conditions of genuine faith is to have 'an actual knowledge that the course of life which one is pursuing is according to Gods will.'

Outside belief, I wonder how people could be absolutely certain about something which needs forever to prove, like polemic between the concept of 'free will' against 'predestination' amongst the scholars.

Success is recognizing where our talents, gifts and attributes come fromthen always giving the Lord the credit. In this way it is possible to stay humble and successful at the same time. Success and glory (as the world understands it) is very addicting, but for someone whose satisfaction comes from doing the Lords will, the true understanding of success is comprehended. As John Taylor so beautifully stated (July 7, 1878), 'We are here as Jesus was here, not do do our own will, but the will of Him who sent us.' The most successful experience in life is to find out His 'will' for our individual lives and do it, Thus fulfilling the measure of our personal creation.

We like to keep STARTING OVER fresh for the daytime audience, ... From day one, fans have been asking, 'Will you ever put men in the STARTING OVER house' We thought it was time to give the fans what they want, and show a different aspect of what Life Coaches can accomplish.

In the scriptures there is no such thing as righteous pride. It is always considered as a sin. We are not speaking of a wholesome view of self-worth, which is best established by a close relationship with God. But we are speaking of pride as the universal sin, as someone has described it.... Essentially, pride is a 'my will' rather than 'thy will' approach to life. The opposite of pride is humbleness, meekness, submissiveness, or teachableness.
