That radiant light settles into the heart and the darkness of preoccupation with what is other-than-God is extinguished therewith. Then the reality of the Realm (al-Malakut) becomes visible to it, and that is what Harithah meant when he said to the Messenger of God 'It is as if I see the Throne of my Lord distinctly.' And the Messenger of God said, 'The Light of God Most High is faith in one's heart.'

    Then did I punish those who disbelieved, so how was the manifestation of My disapproval Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then We bring forth therewith fruits of various colors and in the mountains are streaks, white and red, of various hues and (others) intensely black And of men and beasts and cattle are various species of it likewise those of His servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah surely Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.

    Nothing is beautiful, only man: on this piece of naivete rests all aesthetics, it is the first truth of aesthetics. Let us immediately add its second: nothing is ugly but degenerate man - the domain of aesthetic judgment is therewith defined.


    And Allah has sent down water from the cloud and therewith given life to the earth after its death most surely there is a sign in this for a people who would listen.
