Phyllis Hunger has dedicated her entire life to youth. In her professional career as well as in her post-professional career, she continues to support and nurture activities and programs that develop today's young people into tomorrow's leaders.
Phyllis Gretzky's influence on her family no doubt matches Wayne's impact on hockey. She taught tenaciousness and teamwork, hard work and humility, respect for people and for the game. Her legacy is defined daily by the way Wayne, and all her children, have shared those lessons in every area of their lives.
When Phyllis and I started on this in the fall of 2002 we knew it was going to be a big project and require lots of dedication. It ended up requiring far more time and dedication than we had imagined.
And since they wasn't able to turn my art over, I sort of just switched off to Phyllis Kind, she's really my agent. She has a gallery in Chicago.

Phyllis Hunter is bedridden, and it was her granddaughter who brought a spark of hope to days that could often be filled with gloom. Only a few days ago, she came into my room and she could see I wasn't feeling very well, ... She said 'Grandma, you can't die until you go to my prom.'
It wasn't sexual in its element. I wasn't being exploited. I was doing what happened. It was very challenging because I played Phyllis from 15 years old to 53 when she died of breast cancer.
I think we will have a boy baby and he will be born on the 20th of August. Everyone else has a girl baby and at times I don't believe I should mind having a little Phyllis Dawn but Dearest wants a boy and I do.
