Quotes about orton (14 Quotes)

The Bears have described Orton as mature beyond his years, and although that's a good thing, it's worth noting that just because Gary Coleman was mature beyond his years, it didn't make him Sir Laurence Olivier .

Of course, the defense won the game, overcoming sub-par passing, a special teams turnover that led to the Bears' only points, and the opponent. Williams runs from credit, but he's getting it whether he likes it or not. Just when you think you've got us figured out, ... he's got another package, he's come up with something else. We knew we had to come after Orton today, mentally and physically. Muhsin Muhammad even told me before the game, 'We know what you're going to try to do to him.'

We have a pretty good running game. I don't think Orton is going to have to win every game. Hopefully we put him in situations that are favorable. Rookies tend to struggle because sometimes they're not afraid to throw certain balls that they shouldn't throw. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes it's not.

Normally, it's tough to think a rookie quarterback can make an impact. Let alone one drafted in the fourth round. But Orton has the tools to make things happen,

They call me a chav. It's a bit of laugh. I think they mean Orton boy, which is an area in Peterborough which has graffiti all over the place so people think it's a bit dingy.

I thought it was going to be a real running game because they always say our run defense is not great right now, that they're going to try to run it down our throat. I have a good rapport with him. Kyle Orton and I both have a great rapport with him. He runs great routes. Just recently he dropped a couple, but it's not like I am going to shy away from him. He's an All-Pro receiver. He's going to make that play 99 times out of 100.

I really like this young quarterback (Kyle Orton). He's very efficient. The speed of the game doesn't bother him. He'll play better than what people think he will as a rookie. He's better than (Rex) Grossman. I would fear Orton a little bit. He's better than Drew Brees who came out of there (Purdue).
