Rex Grossman Quotes (37 Quotes)

I just re-thought my shoe. I have different shoes now.

Obviously, we're extremely mad and hurt and (ticked) off.

That was our game plan going in. We saw on tape their safeties come down low for run support and we just used Bernard's speed with our (pass) protection to get a couple plays down the field.

I think that's just human nature to make you want to work harder to improve yourself, and I think that'll be a positive for me.

The plan was to get them off us a little bit. We wanted to stretch the field a little bit, loosen them up, and then start getting the run going.

Sometimes they put a lot of guys in the box (to stop the run) ... we've got to have a balanced attack Sunday. We're going to mix it up, get into a rhythm. I think that's what the Giants didn't do.

Everyone has their own opinion on me - how I'm going to play, how good you think I am. I'm a pretty confident player. I feel like I can go out there and have a good game. That's all that matters.

I knew right away, and I was kind of in denial to start with,

Since he hasn't played a ton, people don't really realize his speed. When you put him in the slot and get him on a safety, it's a mismatch every time.

I'm not trying to be Mr. Whatever. I'm trying to play my role, and the team is excited we have such a good defense and running game. We've established that we're a complete team.

With a guy like Moose, you don't have to make a perfect throw. He runs great routes, he's got terrific hands, and he's a guy the opposing defense has to respect. He just makes our whole offense better.

As long as I go through my reads and run the offense, everything should take care of itself.

I could be on my feet and throwing way before late November. As far as when I will be 100 percent, I don't know.

I'm going to naturally make plays. I'm not going to force anything. There's a fine line between just being a gunslinger and running the offense. I'd like to be 90 running offense, with that other 10 being my own personality.

Because I've been hurt and I was unbalanced on one leg, hurt the other leg, everything's been out of whack. He's just so good about knowing the human body and everything to get everything working together and flexible. That's been my routine.

Anytime you're in a situation where you're being pushed, it brings out the best in anyone. That's true of any situation in life. That's just human nature to make you want to work harder and prove yourself. That will be a positive for me.

He's a Pro Bowl receiver. He led the league in touchdown catches and yards last season. He's been there, done that. He makes big catches in big games, and I know he is going to come through when it counts.

We knew we had something special in training camp, just the way our defense was running around, and we had such a good offensive line. Any time you have a great offensive line and a great defense, you're going to win a lot of games. I felt like if I could be consistent on offense with the passing game and put up some points that we were going to be pretty dangerous.

This is another bad thing that happened, but I know great things are coming for me. I feel like I've been through hell and I'm going to come out of it and good things are going to happen.

It'll be fun just to get my start again and once again playing against a legend I grew up admiring. It's just going to be a great time. I'm really looking forward to getting back out there and having had a victory there, it might help psychologically.

I just have to play real consistent, do what the coaches ask me to do. Every quarterback going into any game is going to want to protect the football.

Like I said after the game, he's going to catch the ball 99 out of 100 times. He'll pick his game up. He talked to me a little bit after the game and apologized and I just said, 'Don't worry about it, you're a great receiver.' I know he's going to make the play.

Any time you're in a position where you're not an established quarterback in the league (you're worried). I may get the first shot at it, but that's all I'm going to need because I'm excited about what this offense can do and my performance in this offense.

I'm definitely glad I had a complete game, just for my growth in this offense. Defense wins championships and we've got a good running game. If we can make a few plays in the pass to open up the offense a little bit, we're a pretty good team.

I'm the mystery quarterback and I would have liked to have played more, but since I didn't, having only played six quarters, I feel pretty good about where I'm at.

Grossman didn't hurt himself at all. He was solid. Nothing eye-popping, but he's got a quick release and good instincts. His footwork needs a little work, but he looked good.

We're one step closer to winning the Super Bowl and being world champions. It's definitely the first part of our magical season.

Having just recently watched a bunch of tape and gone through a game plan a couple weeks ago against the Packers, I definitely have what they do fresh in my mind.

It's how (offensive coordinator) Ron Turner calls different plays with me in there. They only have a game and a half to watch me in this offense.

We have to win three games and we're world champions. We know we've got a good team. When the season began, no one believed it but us.

It was tough, but when I got hurt, I knew it was going to be a long process. It took about four or five months to start running. Once I started running I didn't feel like I was rehabbing as much as just working out.

Justin has definitely gotten a lot better in my eyes. I feel like he's playing with more confidence and making big catches out there. I trust him to come down with those plays and he's extremely smart, he's gotten a better understanding of defenses and how to run his routes and what coach Turner is asking him to do.

It's smart of them to bring in someone who they feel is a better backup plan, even though I feel like Kyle's a pretty good player, too.

It took us a while to get into a rhythm offensively, but I thought we did a nice job of finding that rhythm and playing decent from there.

I thought I was going to be a lot more nervous than I was, ... The first play of the game definitely helped. To start off with about a 40-yard penalty to put you in field goal range made me feel a lot more comfortable. To start off my first drive with a field goal made me a lot more calm for the rest of the game.

I have a good rapport with him. Kyle Orton and I both have a great rapport with him. He runs great routes. Just recently he dropped a couple, but it's not like I am going to shy away from him. He's an All-Pro receiver. He's going to make that play 99 times out of 100.

I just thought it's a good way while I'm going over my notes to listen to the meeting as well, just another added thing to try to get better.
