Quotes about braking (16 Quotes)

We're trying to give participants the tools to prevent many crashes, by giving them a much better understanding of what their personal cars are or are not capable of doing in terms of turning and braking things they were never shown in driver's ed. More importantly, we're teaching the students how to recognize when they are putting a car at its limits and what to do about it.

I was still haunted by my last minute adjustment before qualifying. I am still trying to get the brakes all dialed in. I still couldn't come into the braking zones with authority until half way through the race. I caught back up and it was just a matter of 10 to 20 feet every braking zone because the Performance Friction Brakes were working well once it was dialed in.

This was a chaotic and confusing race. We hoped to exploit the unusual weather conditions but this year, it seems that even the luck that can be a fundamental part of motor racing will not come our way. Maybe we have had too much of it in the past few years, but I hope we can now get back in credit on this score as quickly as possible. At the start of the race, Michael was a front runner, while Rubens who had started from further back, was struggling a bit. When the Safety Car came, out we tried to gamble on dry tyres on Michael's car, but very quickly, he realised the car was impossible to drive in these conditions. So another stop was needed to go back to rain tyres, but Michael's race lasted just one more lap, when he was hit by Sato in the braking area for La Source. This meant all our hopes rested with Rubens, who had moved into the points by this stage. His race was going normally, but when his rain tyres began to go off significantly, he had to pit again to fit dry ones with just a few laps remaining. The time he lost doing this and in getting the dry tyres up to temperature cost him fourth place.

If markets felt the Bank of Canada was going to press on with rate hikes after the Fed stopped, that could fuel an overheated Canadian dollar, providing too much of a braking force on exports.

Montreal is a very nice track with a great crowd, ... I like it a lot. The most important thing in Montreal is the braking. It's very easy to lock the tires, and there are a lot of chicanes so you have to be really fast in the chicanes.

The slow reaction time means people brake more than they should have to. Unnecessary braking too much slowing down causes the jam to form in some instances.

People argue that heavy trucks require longer braking distances for any given speed, and lower truck speeds help equalize the stopping distance. On the other hand, opponents of lower truck speed limits have suggested that the differential speeds increase

Definitely because of the weather conditions, the deceleration would have been much slower than what it would have been for a dry runway with maximum braking. The brakes are much less efficient on a wet runway than a dry runway.

I almost lost the podium because I made a mistake and I pressed the water button instead of the radio. All the water splashed in the helmet. So it got all dirty, then it just started to fog up. In fact, during the yellow I had to take off my glove completely, tried to wipe it from the inside and put it back on again. That was a mess. It was so bad I lost concentration, missed the braking point. Then I said to myself if I don't make the podium they are going to kill me. So I did.

The aircraft will sink into material and it pressing against the front gear will cause much more friction than normal braking would, ... It can stop it very quickly with no injury and very little damage to the aircraft.
