It's nice that people regard us that highly. I don't think people thought we were going to be as good as we are with (Ray) Blackburn gone. It's still the middle of January. Now if we're No. 1 come March 17 (end of the state playoffs), then I'll really be happy.
We used those markers to ensure we had the genes required for multi-race resistance and focused our field-testing efforts on identifying superior yield performance. We stacked the deck and were able to come up with all face cards.
In addition to multi-race SCN resistance, 95M60 has a couple of other traits that are beneficial and unique. It has good root-knot nematode resistance and very strong soybean aphid antibiosis.

This is a breakthrough for farmers in the South. Farmers needed a good, high-yielding variety with multi-race SCN resistance.
Obviously we wanted to be the best team in the state by winning the Federation. We'd never be happy with a loss, but we know the big picture, and we're still state champions. We're so proud of the kids and that's what we'll focus on.
