Robbie Tobeck Quotes (35 Quotes)

There's no excuse for us to only score 14 points. I don't care who we're playing or where we're playing.

I've been on some bad teams with a lot of down years. People don't even know who you are. You'd be out and they'd be ripping the heck out of your team and then they find out who you are and they kind of feel small. This is better than that.

This isn't easy for any of us. We thought we had a good chance to win this game. Hell with the people who didn't think we did. We made too many mistakes, that's all.

There's never any excuses. You either get it done, or you don't get it done. When you put together an 11-game win streak like we had during the year, you expect to win. In years past, I think our team felt we could win, but didn't expect to win. We know Washington is a good team, but we expect to win.

He ran great today it was a great effort by him. In that last game when he ran over that guy on third-and-short to get the first down, you could see the 'eye' he had in the huddle after that. You could tell he felt good about it.

We don't worry about that stuff. Whatever is said about us nationally is fine.

I'm a little disappointed in the way we executed today, there's no question,

I never take shots at his head, or his looks, or the way he dressed, or anything. And those are things that I could easily do.

I think we have a lot of pride, and I think we work well together. There's no magic here. It's never really talked about, and if it is talked about, it's only in passing.

Any time you put your heart and soul and blood and sweat into something and part of an organization, it's an honor when you get any kind of recognition like that.

We had opportunities. And against a good football team, you have to make every one of them count. We just couldn't finish. We could have played better, but we laid it on the line and got beat by a team that played better than we did today.

You've got to give it everything you've got because it's do-or-die. You don't want to be that close and not get it done I do know that.

The last few years, we've been in these games and we haven't been on the right side of them. I'm glad we got over that hump today.

I've always believed the good teams win the close games,

He's one of us offensive linemen. Someone said he was on the 1984 team, the last one prior to this to win a playoff game. We want to win this for guys like Mack and Chris Gray, who are older. Wait, I guess I'm older than both of those guys.

It's good to have a win, but this is a team we should have beaten. That's the thing that's encouraging not the fact we won this game, but that we didn't slip and make it a close game.

It's been a goal of mine every year I've played. It feels awesome. It's a real honor and kind of a real humbling thing to finally reach that goal.

That would set him head and shoulders above anyone who has ever coached. Heck, even now, he has to be considered one of the greats. He always seems to know the pulse of this team.

For me it really hurts. The last time I played in a Super Bowl we lost, but I felt like I had years ahead of me. I'll be 36 in March, I don't know how much time I have left. It's a hard pill to swallow right now.

Steve came in as a hungry rookie and even as a first-round pick he came in as hungry to succeed as I did when I came in as a rookie free agent who was just trying to make the team.

It's the greatest feeling in the world. I get chills just thinking about it. To be in a place where I love so much, and to know that the fans have been long-suffering but still great fans, it just gives me the best feeling in the world to be able to bring this to them.

It was more my son that I had to calm down. He was devastated. But it was just one of those things. Like I told my son, I'm just glad I've played so long that the team I played for was worried about my age. You have to keep it in perspective. If the team is worrying about my age, then I've had a good career.

It's a real honor and a humbling thing to reach that goal. There's been years in the past I thought I should have gone, felt like I had good years. Part of it is being on a good team and being surrounded by good guys. ... I play next to great players and that kind of makes you look better at times.

He tries to hide it. He wears that hat down low all the time and things like that. But he's on a national stage now. It's really been a neat thing for bald guys everywhere.

Every bald guy I've talked to since we got to the Super Bowl is rooting for Seattle.

Since our loss to the Redskins earlier this season, Matt might audible to the right call eight to 10 times a game. Today, he probably did it five or six times. He got us in the right plays. He's a smart, smart guy. That's what separates him from most of the other quarterbacks.

A lot of it comes from the team winning and things like that. But he's in some pretty high company now and I'm happy for him. I'm happy to be part of it.

In years past, when we won a game like we won last week, guys would have been jumping around, making noise, yelling, being happy then we'd relax and lose the next game,

Those were two different teams last year. It's a new season, a new team. Yeah, we have a history with these guys, (but) they can't sit here and say, 'Well, we did it last year, so we'll be able to do it this year.' And we can't sit here and assume that we'll be able to get it done.

They executed better today than we did. That's point blank what it comes down to. There's no excuse for us only scoring 14 points. I don't care who we're playing or where we're playing. Hey, we came down here to Jacksonville. I felt like we could have won. We should have won, but we didn't execute in the second half at all.

You don't cheer for one team or the other, but I kind of wanted to play Denver because of Casey Hampton. We played against him a couple of years ago and I have a lot of respect for him.

We all had a laugh. It was unbelievable - he was addressing the crowd, and somebody yelled out, 'Nice shirt' Here you are, your hometown, your crowd, your guys, and your quarterback is talking and all somebody yells out is, 'Nice shirt'.

In the NFL, 300 yards rushing, that is unheard of. You look in college and you see those games. I don't know how often that happens in the NFL, but I know it's rare. That's a huge, huge thing. It's funny, we were in the huddle before Mo (Morris) broke off that long 49-yard run, and I said, 'Hey, let's get Mo a hundred, let's get Mo a hundred.' And he said, 'Hey, I'm running behind you guys.' He busted out through there and it was nice to see. I was trying to catch him, but I was tired.

A lot of coaches motivate by being negative all the time. A lot of coaches motivate by trying to be a players' coach, and everything. I don't think he does either of those. I've always been impressed for his feel for the team and what to say in situations.

He's been more vocal as far as speaking out with a rah-rah speech before games. I've noticed it, and it's been good.
