You can argue whether they were decent calls or not I don't even know what McCabe's penalty was but they were bad and they cost us the game.

    I have yet to have a conversation with anyone (with Hockey Canada) about this issue, so all this speculation is premature to talk about.

I know we looked at all the tapes every night and thought that we're a talented enough group that has scored, does score at the National Hockey League level. But the real bottom line is you have to come together as a team and we didn't do it as well as we needed to.

    Time is our enemy here. This small amount of time that we have here this week is the start of putting this team together. These guys have to find a way to come together and it starts here.

We played our hearts out. We had a lot of young players on this team who are going to be there for this country in 2010 (in Vancouver) and they're going to learn from this experience.

    Professional athletes are used to dealing with situations that require focus and discipline. That's what we're going to ask these professional guys to do.

    You hope that nothing happens, but it has happened. I think it's fine. Bryan has been looking forward to playing. He's been having a terrific season and he's been a good player for a while.

    I believe the guys that we selected - and it's certainly arguable, there's going to be a lot of discussion - are the guys that we believe are going to be able to put us in that gold-medal circle at the end of the day.

    No, it is not alarming. He has been doing fine, and it seems like this team, at least on special teams, either finds a way to score some or give some up. I look at it as team thing.

    I don't think we competed hard enough on the road this year. There were some games where we were in them and we let them go because we didn't know how to compete.

    You don't usually see leadership qualities from a goalie but he has it. He's understanding, wise in how he treats his teammates and a leader on the ice with his great play.

    You have that kind of thing to discuss among the group. We said it wasn't very pretty and we have to do some things better. We have been getting better and maybe that had quite a bit to do with catching everybody's attention.

    For the time being, that would probably be what we're looking at for Saturday and we'll see where that takes us.
