    My immediate answer (to whether Allison will play) is yes. But as the day wears on it'll indicate whether he will be able to or not.

    Our hope for him is to become that all-around defenseman you can put out in any situation and feel very comfortable. Guys that are thinking offense put themselves in bad spots sometimes. And so I'd like him still to be working on his positioning and his play on covering people that could be in dangerous spots.

    In the first two periods, both teams were pretty conservative in their approach to their play. There weren't a lot of chances for either side. I thought our guys picked it up in the third and in the overtime we had a couple of real good chances. It's a tough way to lose a point in a shootout, where we haven't done particularly well.

    I don't know if that's an appropriate question. ... I want to coach here. This is an organization that has been a real good part of my career.

    We're thinking about what athletes have to think about, and focus on the job at hand. They have to put things aside, and whatever that distraction may be, that's exactly what they expect of themselves and we're all going to move forward.

    You cross-check a guy twice you're going to get called. You have to play with discipline to be successful.

    Often this year we got so stretched out we became a standstill team. Our guys have been so much more attentive in the past couple of games in getting into position to move the puck from our zone. We're coming together as a group.

    I think the idea as a coach is you put out a lineup that can win that night. The present is more important than the future. You try to put the guys out there who will get us one more victory.

    That's where we got into trouble before, playing him before he was ready ... we'll have to make sure we're on the same page with Darcy and the medical staff.
