We always knew Scott liked the point. He's got such a terrific shot, we get a lot of action off his shot. If it doesn't go in the net, we get some rebounds, second and third chances. I like how we can load him up for that one-timer of his. Generally, it's always on net.

There's not very many systems that work if you don't have the work ethic. And it just spreads through the whole team. I don't care what system you play. If you don't have that effort there, it's not going to work.

He's probably looking at ... in a full year ... probably getting 20-25 goals.

He put so much on his shoulders he was drained when game time came. His play dictated what kind of leader he is. It's going to be a big loss for us.

I think when we started the season, there was a big adjustment for him. Then he adapted very quickly and came along really well, which was good to see because we needed that veteran leadership back on the blue line. I've been pleased with how he's played.

He has to learn his to use his size better. He's not a big guy, so a lot of his moves have to be further out from the opposition. If he's in too tight, he can't get away from a guy and they can just use body position on him.

When you're in a situation like we're in now, of course there's going to be frustration there. These guys, they care. They're professional athletes who really care. There's nothing they want to do more than win a hockey game. It just seems like we make one mistake here, one mistake there, it's 2-0 and that's hard to accept.

In this league, it's all scoring at the right time. It changes the whole look of the game, if you get a goal at the right time. We've been getting those goals at the proper time and giving us momentum.

I think our team play is more important than anything else. We're going to have a lot of younger players in our lineup for the remaining games ... let them learn the game at this level.

I don't think we're too far away. We've shown that we have a lot more depth as an organization than we originally thought we did. I think a few free agent signings will make a big difference.

If we could have won probably another 10 games, we would have been right in the mix. With our ownership the way it's gone, we had to cut back and that's also affected the organization.

We've used Keith before at center ... not this year but previously when he's been in St. Louis. I can't say it will stay pat or not ... we had a practice today, and I wanted to see how it would go in practice.
