Marc Bulger Quotes (38 Quotes)

I wish you guys would ask me that during camp, how my arm feels. I throw 1,000 times in the morning and 1,000 in the afternoon.

We know what he meant to the organization. He deserves all the praise and accolades he gets. He won the Super Bowl and all that. But we're so busy right now trying to beat them, that we have plenty of time to pat him on the back in the offseason.

I'm sure it's clean. I didn't give myself up. He made a block and finished it. It doesn't happen if I don't throw the interception. So that's the frustrating part.

When he has that adrenaline going, he's tough to bring down. You give him a little bit of a crease, his legs are so big and he's so strong that he's tough to bring down.

He was real meticulous in everything he did with the offense. He wanted it done his way. It's a credit to him, those years they had here setting all the NFL records.

It's a combination of a lot of things. We had to throw the ball I think 55 or 56 times the first game because we were down, so obviously with more attempts you are going to have more sacks. Obviously we throw the ball down the field far. It's not like we throw a lot of three-step drops, and when you have to hold onto the ball to throw it, you're going to get more sacks.

Which is good. So it's just swelling in the joint. Some fluid. So I don't think it'll be quite as bad as last year.

That was the pivotal play of the game, a huge play. We could have been down 17-0 and it might have been ugly from there.

It all looks good right now on paper. We should be scoring a lot of points. But we have to go out and get it done.

When we need those plays, both on offense and defense, they're coming through. We needed Marshall to come through for us on the last drive, and he did. We needed the defense to stop those guys and they did. It's nice to know we can rely on each other this year. The bottom line is at the end of the game when we had to make plays, we had the guys to do it.

We have the luxury of having four really good receivers when we are in our quad package, ... At the same time, since Isaac is going to be down, Dane (Looker) can step in and play the fourth receiver, but Kevin, like I said after the game, could start for most teams. And there are different things that Kevin does better than Isaac, but at the same time, there are a lot of things that Isaac brings to our team that we will miss, route-running and blocking and just being that leader out there. So, we'll miss him if he can't go, but Kevin, he knows what he's doing.

I think Brandon thought he was going to go backside (with the pass), and he didn't.

He said that eventually there could be some arthritis, ... I think he told me Jim Edmonds (of the baseball Cardinals), and some other guys had some surgery - they just take a little bit of your collarbone off. It's not a big deal, but that's not something you can prevent. But from the MRI and the X-rays, everything's stable right now.

Obviously you're happy they're struggling and we know we can do some things. But we know better than that. They're not that kind of defense, the one that is 31st-ranked. It's still early in the season and stats really don't mean anything. We respect them enough that we are not going to take them for granted.

It's nice to have someone out there like Cameron to pick up. He showed he can make big catches. He knows what he's doing. He's a smart player.

I'd assume three quarters. In the third game, you usually get your most playing time, especially in a short week. You don't want to have to play much on Friday.

We want to run the ball more, ... Earlier in the year we didn't have that luxury because we were behind.

We feel we should be 3-1, ... Even 4-0 if you play good. But that's just the way the league's been this year. There's only a couple of undefeated teams. ... We know we can come back. It's not the end of the world. But as the season goes on, each one of these losses becomes more critical.

It started off with a bad throw and it got worse. I was getting blocked, I got hit, and nothing happened there, and then I think once I hit the ground is when it happened. I'll have to see the replay. I don't if once he jumped on top of me that's when it happened, but it wasn't the hit, it was the ground.

He said he'd already had it done, ... I thought it was a little more complicated and serious.

There's a couple games that Mike gets pretty fired up for. And this is certainly one of them. I think this goes way back with him. And Isaac and guys that have been here (several) years understand that.

I do that every day, that's what I do for a living, ... That's a hot route. But it's neither here nor there now, we won and we don't have to go kill the ref.

This year we can get into our three- and four-receiver sets and really get in depth with them. We have 20 or 30 specific things for them, and I'm sure it will be even larger by the time we get to the opener against the (San Francisco) 49ers.

When I had the Miami (injury), I was able to go back in. But I knew after this one (against the Colts), I was unable to continue. But hopefully we'll get some good news . . . and they can shoot some crazy stuff in there, and I can come back sooner. Maybe. We'll see.

I definitely made a bad throw, and things definitely got worse as the play went on.

If you just play two or three series, you can't get a real good feel for the game. Playing a half gave you that feel, and we made our corrections.

If you can't deal with it, you're in the wrong business. At the end of the day, five years from now, they're not going to look back and say you were 6-10 because you had all those things going on. They're just going to say you were 6-10. When you're on the field and not making plays, it has nothing to do with what's going on upstairs.

I don't think we've been consistent, that's what the preseason is for ... At times, we've looked pretty good.

It might work in high school and sometimes in college, but in the NFL you've got to have a running game.

It was pretty apparent the last month or two that this day was going to come. I think it's better for Coach Martz and for the organization that it happened quicker, for him to find another job and for the team to find a replacement.

The Giants do so many things that can present a problem for us if we don't know what we're doing, ... At the same time, they might confuse themselves sometimes. So if we can stay with our rules, stay basic, we might get some shots in there.

I don't mind it but we're getting grief from the linemen.I think the red was more manly to them. You know, bright gold, whatever. It will pass.

We did a good job of fighting back, but when you are down by two or three touchdowns at the end, that is when you have to start winging it and hope for the best, ... Unfortunately, when you get down that much and our running game wasn't going real well, it's what you have to do.

It's sort of a new route we were working on, and I probably thought through the read too much. I had three or four keys on it, and on three of the four I was right on.

I think him having to watch a game on TV, you should put a camera on that because that should be something to see.

He knows what he's doing. He's been around for a while now. He kept checking the ball down three or four times, I knew he was going to go over the linebackers one of these times. He was just baiting them. That's Kurt.

It feels good. Obviously, I'm just throwing. I'm not getting hit. It's not sore.

The Rams' passing-game approach wouldn't be altered if Bruce were out and Curtis were in, Bulger said. There are a lot of things that Isaac brings to our team that we'll miss route-running, blocking, just being that leader out there, ... So, we'll miss him if he can't go. But Kevin knows what he's doing. ... There are different things that Kevin does better than Isaac.
