Jon Lieber Quotes (22 Quotes)

From the beginning I just didn't have it. I was out of control.

Saturday was a very tough loss, and we bounced back great. Give catcher Todd Pratt a lot of credit back there. He did a great job moving around and setting up my pitches.

Patience is the big thing, no doubt. Just seeing him and talking to him, I think he understands. His attitude is great.

My arm feels stronger than it's ever felt, which is what some guys have told me happens after this surgery. Kerry Wood puts more strain on his arm than I do, and he came back fine from this surgery. I know there are people who think I can't do it, but I love that. That drives me. I think I can go out there every fifth day and give this team a chance to win.

It's funny how things balance themselves out. Funny things happen in this game.

I think it's a great idea ... but why do it this early. You're interrupting camp. Somebody's going to get hurt. I hope not. Guys worrying getting hurt that's all you hear about. That's my 10 cents for the year.

No matter how you look at it, every game is huge from here on out. We don't want to jump ahead. Take them one at a time.

Those things happen. I'm not going to be perfect all the time.

Personally, Im trying to win every game. If it happens, it happens. A lot of seasons it depends on your teammates. To win 20 games you have to have a lot of things happen in your favor. You need a little luck.

That was huge. There was no doubt in my mind that was the right decision. You have to go for it in a situation with the bases loaded. If anything, I had one or two good innings left.

This might be the only time you might get anything out of me. This is the way I look at it I just don't know why we're not doing this after the World Series. Guys already have their season in, they're ready to go. Why risk an injury It's really ridiculous.

I didn't have good stuff. I'm not contributing. That's the bottom line.

It was enough. It's always exciting to pitch in games like this. I'm just trying to make the most of it. The bottom line is we won.

I thought it was just a fly ball. I made the pitch where I wanted it, and he just dropped the bat right on the ball.

I'm just guessing they wanted to take a look at some more guys over there. I really wanted to work on getting my slider down. The last game it was just so-so, and today it was much better. Today, I had a better tempo and it was much better.

Patience is the biggest thing. Just seeing Wolf and talking to him, he understands that. His attitude is great.

When things like good run support happen you have to make your mindset to where it's a 0-0 game. I pitch better when the games seem to be a little tighter, but you never complain when you get runs like that in a big game like this.

You guys in the media can make it as bad as you want or as good as you want. The bottom line is that we have to pick each other up. We can't worry about what's being said. A lot of people think we're 2-14, but we're 6-10.

It's a tough one to swallow because of the excitement of the first day of the year. You hate to have a game get out of hand like that one did in the fourth inning. But what else can you say

I just focus on things, day by day. I just want to be as consistent as I can.

I had better command of my pitches than I've had, ... and I felt as good as I've ever felt.

No doubt it was a big game today, especially after some tough games against Houston. These guys really bounce back and we did a great job all the way around.
