Gary Kendall Quotes (11 Quotes)

I think all those guys that didn't get a chance to move ... they all had solid seasons here, they could have easily went up. It wasn't so much that they failed here, was the reason they repeated, it was because, basically, the people above them didn't move up. Which is maybe a good sign for our system as far as we're getting some guys that are staying a while and can play.

They didn't get on much for us tonight, but they did a good job when they were asked to play team baseball.

These residents are frightened. They woke up one day and found out that they are living in a toxic waste dump. They have learned that they had been drinking water that can cause cancer. They are rightfully scared for their well-being and for the well-being of their children.

I thought, I'm going to gamble here. We haven't been putting too many hits back-to-back-to-back all year and that's what I was thinking there.

I'm real impressed with the newcomers. The pitching, I'm not just impressed with their velocity but their maturity. You hate to lose a game like that when the pitching is that good.

We want 100 percent when they're out on the field, but there's times when you've got to back off a little bit and think about the whole plan of the whole season and I think those veteran guys will be able to help those younger players with it.

I didn't see whether he took his eye off the ball or not, whether there was a couple other (fielders) in the mix, maybe he kind of alligator-armed it a little bit, but he went a long way for it and... he normally catches that ball. Ninety-nine out of a hundred times he catches that ball, but I'm not going to dwell on that.

We just didn't go after it in extra innings but they did. To their credit, they've got a pretty good bullpen and they did a good job against our bats in extra innings.

They just didn't have their A-game tonight, we can't go up there and expect them to play like that. But, to our credit, we went out there and swung the bats. I really liked what we did offensively.
