Curt Fredrickson Quotes (27 Quotes)

Adam was one of our top hitters last year, and he has continued that trend this year. He not only hits for a good average, but for power as well. He has a real passion for the game, and that fuels his fire.

That's what good teams are supposed to do, especially when they're at home. Good teams always have an answer when they're at home. We had four quick points, and then we didn't really score again for the next several minutes. They really played well for about six minutes there in the first half, and we had some problems executing on our end.

I thought we played really well all day long. To play them as close as we did in two games gave us some confidence. Wayne is 19-1 in the league and we were right in position to beat them twice. We had some guys swinging the bats well.

It (foul trouble) may have been a key in the second half. But we didn't shoot hardly any free throws in the first half. The second half they had more fouls than we did. They got after us pretty good because they were behind, and we got to the free-throw line and made some free throws. Obviously, any time you've got the lead and you make free throws, it's big.

If we had played our best game, we probably still wouldn't have won. As long as they have the inside and outside going like they did today, I don't know if anyone can beat them. UND has had a lot of good teams over the years, but I don't know if I've ever seen a better one.

We only made two out of the four technical free throws. So it wasn't like it was a six-point swing or anything. They just had a hard time making shots after that and we executed down the stretch and did the things we needed to do to win the game.

It was a great example of perseverance on Sara Jensen's part. She has worked very hard over the summer to improve her game and develop confidence, and she has had some outstanding games for us this season.

Hall and Becker are playing exceptional right now. If we get some good play from our perimeter kids, both our starters and off the bench, we are a pretty good team.

They got a couple of buckets late. But we also had some really good looks at the basket down the stretch, and we just couldn't get any to go down. We were down by 16 in the first half and came back, and we played really well in the second half to get back in it. We just couldn't make the shots at the end.

We are very excited about this large recruiting class. I feel we are bringing in some guards that can help us immediately and some forwards and centers that will probably be our front line of the future. These players are not only good basketball players but most have excelled in different sports.

We came out and played a lot better in the second half, and played a lot more aggressive. We just had a hard time stopping them in the first half. They made a lot of good shots and really hustled. Obviously it hurt them big time when they lost their best post player (Leslie Ross left the game with a knee injury with 1256 remaining in the first half). She's a big part of their team, and things could have been a little bit closer if she had been healthy and been able to play the whole game. It's unfortunate that she got hurt.

Winona's a physical team. But I thought we had a good game plan going in. They like to do a lot of switching and we caught them a lot on flashes going to the basket. We scored some easy baskets on overhead lobs, and we did a great job of executing our offense the way we wanted to.

We played pretty darn good defense all night long. You hold a team to nearly 20 points under their average, you've got to be doing some things right.

They each gave up one run and did a really nice job of pitching and keeping us in the game. We didn't get enough hits. It was a very good baseball game and very well pitched and played on both sides.

We beat a good baseball team. It was a win we needed. We got the runs when we had to get them.

(Amanda Reimer) really did a number on us last year when they came up and played us and we weren't about to let that happen again. Our focus was to shut down their drives to the basket and make it as tough as possible for their post players to move.

We graduated so many seniors that this is really a young team. We're going to take our lumps just because we're so young. We've got new pitching because we lost five pitchers. We lost all three catchers. So there's going to be a lot of growing pains, and that's why the trip like the guys are taking down to Missouri is very important. They're going to get a lot of games in and we can kind of sort things out a little bit to try to get ready for conference play down the road.

You can't guard Hall with one player. They didn't have an answer for Hall or Becker tonight.

I was disappointed in our hitting. When you only have three hits in nine innings you are not going to win too many games.

We didn't get a lot of hits and didn't get a lot of scoring opportunities. When we did get runners, we had a hard time scoring them.

Ali stepped up and had a nice game. She made a couple of tough shots inside and was able to get to the free-throw line a few times. Miranda also stepped up her level of play.

We did swing the bats pretty decent in game one. We played from behind but were able to make a nice comeback. The game was close for most of it.

We knew we were the underdog. We knew we needed to stay with them early. They didn't miss early, they didn't miss in the middle and they didn't miss late.

It's hard to have to start the season playing the number one preseason favorite on the road (Wayne State). It'll be tough but we'll get it out of the way.

Miranda hit the three free throws, and they go down and miss an easy shot to end the half. That was a pretty big swing. An eight-point lead at that point in the game, with the way things were going, was pretty nice.

We did a good job of keeping our composure when they made the run on us in the second half. Noelle Hall had some big baskets down the stretch for us, which is what we needed her to do.
