Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us.
We need to be ready to play. (This loss) puts a lot of heat on us over the next few games.
From our perspective, we're focused on what we need to do to make the team better on a daily basis. We as coaches are going to get judged at the end of these 40 games, whether we view it as a permanent job or a temporary job. I don't think there's many permanent jobs in coaching, certainly at this level, anyway. For us, we're treating it as an opportunity and a chance.
That's not what we've seen from Ricky the last stretch of games. He has played better than that ... He's carried us for a long time.
