We'd love to give the best players in the state a chance to play at home. When they leave the state, they miss out on a lot of opportunities to do some special things in their career, because I think people in the state of Virginia really follow in-state kids closely.

I thought that Connecticut stepped up and played like one of the top 10 teams in the country, and I know they've been ranked there all year long. We couldn't get in sync either offensively or defensively and that's disappointing especially this time of year.

Everybody's really new too it's not like there's a lot of team chemistry there.

I'm very proud that this group stayed focused for the entire non-conference schedule and did manage to go through it without dropping one. We had some very close games along the way, but we found a way to win those. Now it's time to step back out and see what we can do.

They're a fun group to be around. You don't want to put a damper on who they are as people. As long as they stay focused and they know the scouting report and they know the game plan, then we'll let them be them.

She was playing really good. She was a trooper and went back in there, but she was in a great deal of pain and it altered our post substitutions.

She was a trooper, she went back in there, but obviously she was in a great deal of pain at that point. It altered our post substitution. She was having such a great first half.

Tonight I had to prod (the team) a little bit. Im sure nerves play into that, but its nice to see us even though we had a slow start hold them to 51 points.

I know a lot of coaches in the past will split between Boo and Deep South (Classic in Raleigh-Durham) it makes it a lot harder to try to do that. Some will still try to do that, but more than likely people will send a coach to each event and not try to double it.

We talked about having to pick up our intensity on defense in order to make a difference in that game. I dont think we really did that until the 14-minute mark in that second half, and when we did, thats when we were able to go on a big run.

We didn't take care of the ball, and we didn't execute against the zone and there was a lid on the basket. I thought early on we were dribbling right into them and trying to shoot over them, and that makes it a little bit easier to block.

They're still huge. They're big, strong, athletic. They can make you be a little bit off.

If you don't give it your best, a team like Connecticut will run all over you.

We hate it because they're playing and we can't be there. Obviously we want to be in the stands and watch the best of the best right now. We'll still be there. They're just shortening the number of days we can come out.

What I like about this group is that they didn't dwell on the past. They looked to the future and tried to see how they could do the same thing that Duke did to us to the next team on our schedule.

Down the stretch I thought we were aggressive on offense, but the key for us was defensive rebounding.

I think everyone will still be there, I don't think there'll be an empty seat to be found. It just limits that we can't go out on that Friday.
