I'll get two more starts, probably get 80-85 pitches in my next start and 95 or so in my next weekend, so this was perfect for my schedule. This is a normal Spring Training for me. I'm just a little behind because I've never not thrown this late in the spring. But everything is great. I'm maybe 25-30 pitches behind.

I feel good with all my pitches. I'm throwing strikes, and I feel comfortable. I'm ready to go now.

I would just have to say that everything goes back to the first World Series, I guess, because as a boy that's what you grow up (dreaming about). ... New York was home for me, it seemed like,

I felt good. I stayed within myself. 'Bigg' hit the big home run.

It doesn't get any more exciting than what we went through in the last series with Boston. I think it was more a World Series for Boston. But this is the World Series. We'll be ready for that.

A pitching coach needs to be a good pin cushion. He's somebody that will talk to you during the game and listen to you and (you can) throw stuff off of him.

That's the bad thing about being a starting pitcher. You have to sit on that for four days. It's been a while since I had an outing like that, actually a long, long time (1996).

I was having trouble pushing off. It just got to that point.

It seemed like I was in trouble in every inning, but the guys picked me up and played great defense and scored some runs.

I know I've done it before, you know, ... I know it's shocking. It shocked me, I can promise you that. I mean I'm just terrible. I hit so bad I was like, 'I need a miracle at the plate.' I told Craig Biggio, too, and Biggio said, 'You got to believe.'

I would have to say they are the team to beat in the National League. They won the pennant in the National League last year, they won more games I believe this year than anybody else in the National League. It will be a tough battle for us to win this series.

Brandon was throwing the ball real well, and we weren't seeing the ball off him the first time around, ... We had another big inning in the fifth, and that's huge.

I know I feed off Roger, and I'm sure other guys do, too. It's a different role for me. I was just a kid the first time I got to the Series in New York. This is a much different experience for me.

He just does a great job of communicating with us and that's all you can ask for. You get a good relationship with someone like that and the relationship is really what it's all about.

When Backe went down there, I told him if he didn't have a good outing I might have to get rid of him, ... It's good Baggy was down there. I wish I could have been there, maybe put a little pressure on him to perform a little better, with the boss in town.

While running around, I'm watching the whole time. I jumped out of the way and it still got me. It was chasing me, I couldn't get away from it.

He said he had seen her sick before. He was hoping that she would be able to pull through. She's pulled through plenty of times before. She must have been extremely sick.

What might sound small or trivial to a lot of people is important to me. I know there are restaurants with bars that I go to, like a Chili's. I'll eat there two or three times a week. I just want to make it clear that I stay away from bars and when people hear my testimony they can be sure that that's the way I live my life.

It's just extremely disappointing. A special day for the organization, getting our rings, and just a horrible outing by me.

All it's been doing this postseason is adding a little more gray hair to my head,

We just need to figure out a way to get it done, ... If the pitcher struggles, we have to score some runs to win some games. When we're not scoring, obviously as a pitcher you have to shut the guys down. Right now, we have to do what it takes.

I was just terrible. I made terrible pitches. I didn't make any quality pitches at all.

I hate it. I wish I could have seen him play in his heyday. He's worked so hard. We had high hopes for him to make it. He's going to try to get it taken care of and see where it goes from there. It's a loss for us, a big loss.

I'm thankful I'm here, ... I'm thankful I can pitch in these games. It's fun for me to be able to pitch in this situation with the pressure of the postseason. We haven't spent time together like we did in New York.

I'm going to be able to make that start no problem. There is no concern at all.

It's definitely a little different, ... This is right there with my first trip in '96. Obviously we went so many times after that in New York, but this is just extremely, extremely special and gratifying to be able to help this organization get to this World Series.

If you think about how well he pitched last year and how he is, it would surprise me if he retired. But then on the other hand, knowing him, I could see why he would retire. His oldest kid is going to be playing in the minor leagues, and he'd like to see him, his next one is a senior in high school.

He's unbelievable. His arm and his body is so strong, if anything ever aggravates him, it's his leg. He could probably pitch for another 10 years, as far as his arm goes.

It's almost like I'm 24 again and I'm like, 'Man, we got to a World Series It's unbelievable,'

I hope they haven't figured anything out, and I just hope I can continue to make good pitches, quality pitches, against them because they are tough to face up and down the lineup.
