This changing perception causes many athletes to feel pressure and have a much harder time achieving their ideal performance. The Jinx isn't just a cover phenomenon. It occurs whenever an athlete receives a particular level of attention that builds expectation.



    I was more concerned with winning this game, hoping our guys could bounce back, than I was with any jinx. I was more concerned with how we came out and played after that loss to Kent (State).

    You try not to think about it. I don't want to really jinx myself, so you just want to go out there and play your best, and hopefully the puck goes in for you.
