Comparing the two actors, Jarhead ... They're alike in some ways, both great listeners, but they react very differently. Jake is reacting to everything that passes him by, and is very readable in his reactions, whereas Peter has mastered watching as an art. He sits on it and holds it, holds it, holds it, and then it all explodes in a volcanic way. But they were both right on the edge.

Jake has really been one of the starters who really hasn't had that day where he walks the house, so to speak. He's throwing strikes and, of all our pitchers, he has worked ahead in the count for the most part this season.

Jake has tremendous feet and hands. He gets rid of the ball and he's very accurate, which is key. You never throw anybody out throwing the ball to center field. He never tries to outdo what his capabilities are. He trusts his ability that he can throw guys out.

It's a challenge I'm willing to take on fully. If I can catch Jake in wins, obviously that would be a good thing. But at the same time I want Jake to get his wins, too. Right now it's a selfish time of the year for a pitcher. You want to get your wins you don't want to have any losses.

That's the best I've ever seen Jake play. He had a guardian angel helping him tonight. In fact, the whole team was playing with a cause. Everybody wanted to win for Jake, and everything seemed to click.

It's a big step for Jake. His 100-yard fly time was phenomenal. He led the first half of the race before another swimmer pulled ahead. He also had a real strong race in the 100-yard freestyle. He was still riding the high from his time in the 100-yard fly.

Everyone knew where Jake was. Teams knew that he is the guy that we loved to throw to. He has a lot of athletic ability, good speed and a good vertical jump. There were times when he would jump over someone else to make a catch. He has a chance to play somewhere (in college).

Jake did a phenomenal job. Got ahead of hitters, made them hit his pitches and our defense played very well behind him typical early-season game where pitchers are dominant. We were very fortunate to get this win.

The other players have total confidence in him. The guys know that they can hold the ball a little longer now. Shane gets to balls that other people would not. His presence made a great change in us in the back. We are quick at every position, really. So communication becomes key, especially because we play zonal defense.

So I think they are more alike than they think they are.

The kid was the best wrestler at the tournament, hands down. Jake wrestled this kid so tough. He ended up losing, 4-0, but you can chalk that up as an accomplishment. I told him he was the only kid that didn't (lose by technical fall or pin) against this kid in probably the last two years. I was really proud of him.

One of the skills I had to learn and become proficient in is kissing a man. I had never kissed a man. Will Smith did it in his movies, so did Jake Gyllenhaal, and I figured it was my time. So it was me and Steve Carell - fantastic.
