We don't want to lose the feel that it's Gilroy's Garlic Festival. That it is for the people of Gilroy to show the rest of the world who we are. We don't want to lose that by becoming too corporate.
We're trying to wake up the little giant that we have here in Gilroy. We want people to know who we are.
Our family fund is not designated right now to a specific area. We started it four years ago because we really like Gilroy and want to help it in anyway we can.
I could not have the lifestyle I want in the Bay Area or even Gilroy. To own 7 12 acres over here would break the bank. But there I have enough land.
It's exciting - even though I can't identify the people, just to see the city at that time ... I just never thought I'd see moving pictures of this time in Gilroy. It's really pretty fascinating.
If you live in Gilroy you won't have to bring out your shovel, but you might see a flake or two. But you're not going to be able to build a snowman.
What it does is unite the arts groups. A lot of times there are different groups in Gilroy and they'll have a purpose individually, but this makes it more of a collective group where you're able to share a vision and purpose.
