We knew that on the second play -- because of the way they played it last time -- we'd have a chance. We'd fake the (run). We thought (safety Mike Doss) might run past the guy, and that's what happened.
Obviously you want to start, but if I don't start I still have to prepare like I'm a starter because you never know what's going to happen, ... That's something I learned in college. During my junior year I was playing behind Mike Doss now with Indianapolis and Donnie Nickey now with Tennessee so I just had to stay focused and ready.
When we lost to Doss, I think everybody said Pleasure Ridge is too young to compete this year at a quality level. But our guys didn't buy into that. These kids are starting to grow up.
Every time we did something wrong, we made up for it. Doss is a very good team, and they forced us into some mistakes. But before anybody could get back down the floor we were doing something good to get it back.
