But then I quite enjoy when something goes wrong, because when I watch DJs that take it very seriously, it's nice when you make a mistake and laugh about it.

It's gotten really blurry, ... When you ask, 'Are we creating a genre' I don't know. We're just creating a party. I went to a gay bar in L.A. a few weeks ago and they were playing Interpol's 'Slow Hands.' A quarter of the guys were singing along, and there was some sort of kinky scene happening. I was like, 'This is really cool.' It's what I've been telling my record company all along We need to promote those remixes to DJs, because the worlds aren't that far apart, anymore.
DJs and people in the street know what they like.
A lot of people felt I was getting work because I was Boy George. My response at the time was that there's a lot of DJs making records, they're not all making good records, but they have the right to do that.
Usually D.J. Garvin comes in and gives us scoring. Bruce usually helps on defense but tonight he stepped up to take over D.J.'s scoring.
It's a great tune, it's going to freak out DJs and programmers, ... There will be edits, I'm sure. If it was the first single out, it wouldn't have got played but seeing as it's the third single, hopefully everyone's bought the album, there's an acceptance that people like this and that's the way you have to play it. And that's the way to do it. Even with 'Feel Good,' American radio wanted a whole bunch of edits, but now that it's a massive hit, they've forgotten all those discussions.
It's this unique programming that sets them apart. It is the non-music programming, associated or built around celebrity DJs that the other guy doesn't have.
And I know how many DJ pools have grown and I know how DJing has grown in the overall, but that was the technical side of it to me. DJs were rolling around, looking for stuff to buy and looking to see what was in the store when they get there.
I go to clubs and if I notice the DJs are playing the records faster, then I'll push the beats a little on the next record I make. A lot of people don't know how to watch out for things like that.
D.J.'s is one of our best linemen and obviously Josh is an outstanding running back. It changed our game plan a bit,
I am amazed at radio DJ's today. I am firmly convinced that AM on my radio stands for Absolute Moron. I will not begin to tell you what FM stands for.
He (Peel) was a wonderful person. He was a genuinely nice person, which is rare in this business. He was a true music fan in a business where most DJs are mainly fans of themselves. I was so in awe of him when we first met. I grew up listening to him and I had so much respect for him. We played his 50th birthday party - and his 60th. I still got nervous playing in front him. He was John Peel.
DJs nowadays play too fast, ... They never slow it down enough so you can actually talk to the girls. Ha, I'm gonna give you some jungle love.
