He rooted for the Mets, he wore Foot of the Loom underwear, and he drove a Buick. His loyalties were carved in stone and he wasn't about to be impressed with some upstart of a toaster salesman who drove a Bonneville.

You're a lunatic. You ran me over with a goddamn Buick.
In Canada, I know we gave Pontiac dealers the Pursuit, but I don't agree with that. Pontiac is supposed to be above Chevrolet, and then Buick is supposed to be just under Cadillac.
The average Buick buyer is 69, the oldest demographic in the industry, and there aren't many new buyers coming in to replace them.
We want to turn around Pontiac. As for Buick, it is unthinkable we would do anything there, given its importance in China, where we sold more Buicks than in the U.S.
The phone rings in the studio. It says, 'Neil Young for Stephen ... Hi, I'm in San Luis Obispo in Black Beauty (Young's '47 Buick), and I'll be there in about four hours.
We have a new policy. We're going to report a weekly number instead of a daily number. There are other tour events that don't report attendance figures, such as the Buick Open.
TOUGH ON HIMSELF Tampa native Woody Austin never has been one to cut himself a break. In fact, he can sometimes be his own worst enemy. And he said so recently when he was defending his Buick Championship title. I've always said all along I've got as much talent as anybody, ... I can hit any shot, but I've got a 2-cent brain. I don't have the mental (side of golf). I just wasn't given the mental ability to play this game as well as my physical part, and that's always held me back. But I'm not afraid to admit it. Some guys are afraid to admit it, but I'm not.

That love would turn to sorrow in 1994 when Hollywood was shot as he sat in the front seat of a parked Buick on NW 25th Avenue and 152nd Street in Miami. Trick sadly notes that Hollywood was a powerful man in this community ... Hollywood's death was depressing. I was young and didn't understand why it had happened. To lose someone so close, you don't want to believe that they're gone. But it made me realize that you shouldn't take anything in life for granted. Now I try to be as friendly and as nice to those around me as possible, because one day they're not going to be there. It was one of the hardest things I've had to deal with. Hollywood was a great guy, and he didn't deserve that.
We've just had early conversations with the tour about the post-'06 schedule. Any time you spend big money, you take a hard look at what you're doing. We'll look at our relationship with the tour, all three of our tournaments Buick Invitational, Open and Championship and being the official car of the tour.
I've got a Cadillac and a Buick and they're both gas guzzlers.
