The evidence that things are changing fast can be seen in the dramatic increase in the influence of blogging. We should be collecting emails as we used to collect telephone numbers and using them to better communicate our message to key voters.
The influence of blogging is overall a very positive force in the media.
And then you take a look at Spaces, there is this great innovation that came out of nowhere. We have the number one blogging site in the world because of the innovation that's there.
Blogging was another important way of solving the freedom of expression and flow of information I was after and there was Six Apart.
Blogging is growing, but it is still a pretty niche thing. We wanted to introduce it to a more mainstream audience and show them it can be about more than just blogging.
The Pew actually allows respondents to decide themselves. I would say absolutely we're dealing with a term that is not particularly well-defined because blogging is a platform. Blogs can be so many different things to so many different people. The definition needs to be more about structure than content.
From our point of view, the important thing is that the emerging Internet TV landscape still has the potential to be free, non-commercial, and built on open standards, ... We're working to ensure that Internet TV is open and accessible, just like blogging and podcasting are. The days of proprietary video players are waning, as long as there are genuine alternatives for consumers that are free and open source.
I sincerely believe blogging can save America.
They've just come out of nowhere, and they're huge. They've done a number of things that were really smart. One was blogging. People have been doing personal home pages for as long as the Internet's been around, but they were one of the first social networks to jump on that. They've also jumped on music, and there's a lot of traffic surrounding that.
Korea has an extremely vibrant gaming, blogging, mobile phone and youth culture scene and I was eager to find out more about what was going on.
