    O you who believe shall I lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement You shall believe in Allah and H, is Apostle, and struggle hard in Allah's way with your property and your lives that is better for you, did you but know He will forgive you your faults and cause you to enter into gardens, beneath which rivers flow, and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetuity that is the mighty achievement And yet another (blessing) that you love help from Allah and a victory near at hand and give good news to the believers.

    Discard your former slave-master's names and be willing and ready to accept one of Allah's Pure and Righteous Names that He Alone will give our people from His Own Mouth A good name is, indeed, better than gold.

    And certainly We sent apostles before you and gave them wives and children, and it is not in (the power of) an apostle to bring a sign except by Allah's permission for every term there is an appointment.

    Then We gave the Book for an inheritance to those whom We chose from among Our servants but of them is he who makes his soul to suffer a loss, and of them is he who takes a middle course, and of them is he who is foremost in deeds of goodness by Allah's permission this is the great excellence.

    Allah has promised to the believing men and the believing women gardens, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetual abode and best of all is Allah's goodly pleasure that is the grand achievement.


    And what reason have you that you should not spend in Allah's way And Allah's is the inheritance of the heavens and the earth, not alike among you are those who spent before the victory and fought (and those who did not) they are more exalted in rank than those who spent and fought afterwards and Allah has promised good to all and Allah is Aware of what you do.

    And do not approach the property of the orphan except in the best manner until he attains his maturity, and give full measure and weight with justice-- We do not impose on any soul a duty except to the extent of its ability and when you speak, then be just though it be (against) a relative, and fulfill Allah's covenant this He has enjoined you with that you may be mindful And (know) that this is My path, the right one therefore follow it, and follow not (other) ways, for they will lead you away from His way this He has enjoined you with that you may guard (against evil).

    But their belief was not going to profit them when they had seen Our punishment (this is) Allah's law, which has indeed obtained in the matter of His servants, and there the unbelievers are lost.

    They are not all alike of the followers of the Book there is an upright party they recite Allah's communications in the nighttime and they adore (Him).

    He it is Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the believers that they might have more of faith added to their faith-- and Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is Knowing, Wise-- That He may cause the believing men and the believing women to enter gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein and remove from them their evil and that is a grand achievement with Allah And (that) He may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the polytheistic men and the polytheistic women, the entertainers of evil thoughts about Allah. On them is the evil turn, and Allah is wroth with them and has cursed them and prepared hell for them, and evil is the resort.

    And that He might know the hypocrites and it was said to them Come, fight in Allah's way, or defend yourselves. They said If we knew fighting, we would certainly have followed you. They were on that day much nearer to unbelief than to belief. They say with their mouths what is not in their hearts, and Allah best knows what they conceal.

    Their apostles said to them We are nothing but mortals like yourselves, but Allah bestows (His) favors on whom He pleases of His servants, and it is not for us that we should bring you an authority except by Allah's permission and on Allah should the believers rely.


    Or lest you should say If the Book had been revealed to us, we would certainly have been better guided than they, so indeed there has come to you clear proof from your Lord, and guidance and mercy. Who then is more unjust than he who rejects Allah's communications and turns away from them We will reward those who turn away from Our communications with an evil chastisement because they turned away.

    Surely the vilest of animals, in Allah's sight, are the deaf, the dumb, who do not understand.

    They desire that you should disbelieve as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah's way but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend or a helper.
