A people waiting, hoping,
believing in their covenant with God
with the many blessings given by God
by the hope they had for a savior, a messiah,
the Christ, to come from the stump of David,
the shoot of Jesse, the root of Ruth, the root of
Abraham, of Jacob, of Moses
Waiting with hope in the coming again of the
Son of Man, in victory, fulfilling the last
of the prophets, the end of the age,
as we wait still this Advent, waiting for the
arrival of our Lord and Savior
