Forced to open their minds,
to accept the possibility of change
The men of Nazareth, sitting in their synagogue
stunned by the words of Isaiah
the prophet read in their midst
The son of the carpenter
the boy they had known
claiming the prophecy of old
fulfilled in their hearing
too much for them
to them this was blasphemy
