Wisdom in the scripture, of the nature of blessing
an internal feeling, something within
not something we have done to us
yes we are blessed, the past tense of the word to bless
but we are blessed, a state of being blessed,
by the workings of our hearts
And, just as is true of happiness, the same is true
of anger, of being mad.
“She cannot make you mad;
it is your choice to be mad.”
So is one of the conversations in our house
If only the wisdom of the scriptures
could be bottled. Far harder to read,
and to internalize its truths.
For me too.
