Said the Landlord to the Tenant,
“I want to make it clear,
You can’t have dogs in this apartment
or children; do you hear?
No cats or pets of any kind
Are you allowed to keep.
Their yowls and howls just might disturb
Some other tenant’s sleep.
Piano playing and radios
I will not tolerate.
All screechy noises such as that
Upon my poor nerves grate.”
The Tenant humbly bows his head
and haltingly he speaks;
“In that case there’s one thing you should know;
my ball point pen; it squeaks.”
