A cry of the children, in this land of prosperity
not to be forgotten, neglected, abandoned
in their time of trial, of need
their daily walk in this land
full of such promise
yet blind to their struggles
injustices rampant
some close by, down the street
Opening our hearts, our churches
praying we will speak,
that we will act, to stop the oppression
rising, our voices shouting
our feet going, leading
responding, acting, giving
with love and compassion
for all of our neighbors in need
