They were acting, upon the promises
the faithfulness of the covenant
the actions of God
Over the ages, the people blessed so richly
provided for by our creator, our sustainer, God
His commandment to follow, to trust in him only
to let no other become our god
They heard this stirring, deep within their spirits
steeled by their brothers, they stood their ground
Their faith ringing, a clarion call
to answer the creator, when it mattered most of all
Before the king, three stood resolute
unwavering devotion to the one who made the earth
