Five small bodies,
looking away from the playground
green grass, bright perfect blue sky
peering in, hands cupped to the glass
capris, tank tops, coats cast aside
kindergarteners, first graders,
staring in, into the gym, the cafeteria
looking for the teachers, the aide
when can we go in? When can we start
is school open yet?!?
