The promise from the creator
the open covenant of God
never again to flood the earth
nothing we have to do
a promise from him alone
Understanding something of our sin
the nature of man
ever since the fall in the garden
prone to sin again
Forgiveness in the promise
measuring his wrath
never to again flood the earth
to destroy all of man
Instead to train the people
his word written down
even when the law failed
sending words in human mouths
When prophets were not enough
sending the holy one
the son of God to redeem us all
every last, single one
His life a sacrifice
the living water of God’s love
by his blood we are washed clean
