Thou hast, O Christ! our bellies fill’d,
And with thy choicest dainties fed:
Fill too the mouth of man and child
With praises for his daily bread.
Thou hast most richly deck’d our board,
And crown’d us with thy plenteous store:
Give us then grace, henceforth, O Lord!
That we, for it, may thee adore.
Thy mercies our best thanks require,
They very justly are thy due:
Give us at least a strong desire
To pay thee all the debt we owe.
A dinner thou didst now bestow
Our spirits to recruit and raise:
We therefore ought to give thee, now,
For these thy gifts our bounden praise.
Let all the creatures, thou dost fill,
For ever praise thee, whilst they live,
And bless thy loving-kindness still
For the provision thou dost give.
