Having Jeff allows us to keep practicing and playing Joey, and grooming him and developing him. But yeah, it's time for him to come along, and we expect him to do that. These youngsters have to grow up. Time to grow up.
Most of the time, we benefit from his improvisation. That one, they got us.
I think in terms of decision-making and being able to throw the ball down the field ... which options are always available to Harrington, maybe he will be more likely to do that having seen Jeff do that over a couple of weeks of practice time,
1. Wide receiver Charles Rogers is back and appears unencumbered by the broken clavicle that sidelined him for all but one series last year. He's gone down on that shoulder a couple of times, ... and you find yourself holding your breath. But each time he gets up and goes back to the huddle. He seems to be OK.
We put the crowd noise on him and put a little pressure on him and he just banged it through there every time.
We're taking a look, if we choose to add another quarterback. We want to take a good look at him and see how he learns our offense -- if he's a candidate to bring back at another time. We've seen him play on film in a very exciting offense. He's been productive.
