Petter Solberg Quotes (17 Quotes)

It's the same story as yesterday morning and Sebastien did really well,

I've got a good feeling, ... No problems at all. I've been pushing a little bit but, when I get a good split time through, I back off. The system seems to be working and I think I'm able to judge the pace quite well.

If I had been in the job 22 years doing the same thing, maybe I would need a change, to do something different, to put energy into something else.

Today it felt good to be fighting for the lead again - that's what we're here for, ... We pushed where we could, but the main objective was to get through cleanly and get a better road position for tomorrow's Leg. We've done that now and I think we'll be able to enjoy ourselves over the next couple of days

It was very slippery. We thought the road would dry out quicker than it did...I think we chose a tyre that was too hard. I'm disappointed by my gap to the leaders but that's how it is.

I had an advantage this morning (Friday) in my start position, but the specials 5 and 6 were very hard.

I tried very hard today and it doesn't look very good actually,

We've just been very unlucky. We're pushing the car to the limit most of the time and things like that can happen. We have to stay together and work on the details. I can push to the limit and maybe I can go off, it works both ways. I hope we have sorted most things. I got a good feeling on the first run at Shakedown and we need do the same as always go and do the best we can. We will see it's not just Mexico where I've gone well, other rallies also. I think we can go the same speed on every single rally.

It was a bad decision. I had re-cut slicks, and it wasn't the best choice for the current road conditions.

I still can't really believe it. It's incredible really. I have no luck here in Monte Carlo. It must change soon.

I'm quite happy actually. The car feels good and we have improved many things. We lost maybe seven seconds towards the end of the first stage as it was hard on the brakes and they seemed to go off. However they seemed fine by the next stage.

The final leaderboard showed that I won the event, but in my mind I finished second, ... Sebastien deserved the win, but I can understand the reasons why he did what he did. But now we all have to keep going - it's what Beef would have wanted.

There won't be any excuses in Argentina. I'm going to attack from the outset. You can't have any other strategy for this rally.

The car is getting better and better and I'm much closer to the confidence I had yesterday,

Not perfect, but not bad times. On the second and third stages, the engine was running very warm, so it dropped to three cylinders and cut off the anti-lag from time to time.

We could be doing better, however the car feels good and yet we are not finding enough speed.

Nothing really to report. We're going as fast as we can and had no major problems. We tried a few small changes to the set-up on the second section but didn't notice any significant improvement.
