Sidney Crosby Quotes (191 Quotes)

It's a great accomplishment, and I'm definitely proud of it. By no means, coming into the season, did I think about getting 100 points. But as it became near, it was something I thought would be a nice feat, and I tried to have the best finish to the season and have no regrets.

I have to get used to the size and speed of the guys the hooks are going to be stronger, the guys are going to hit harder, the game's faster, ... Reaction's a big part of my game, so I have to be quick out there. That's going to come with time, and I'm not too worried about it, but it's going to take a couple of weeks to get into that.

It's tough right now. It's tough for everyone, I'm sure. It's tough for the people that watch us sometimes, too, because they want to see the team win, and trust me, we want to win as bad as they want to see us win.

We have a lot of games left, and we don't want to look too much into it.

We keep digging ourselves holes and you can't do that, ... We have to start taking the play to the other team.

It's big. It's something that we've been talking about for a long time. Every time we play them this year it's been something that's been brought up, so it's nice to finish it and move on.

We've been there a lot this year. We've fallen behind and climbed our way back, but it seems like one mistake we make and sometimes it costs us.

As of right now, go back to junior, the WHA or Europe. I guess those are the three main options, and who knows if other leagues are going to form, or what's going to happen if there is no season again... I haven't really given it a whole lot of thought. That's something that I'm going to decide after the season is over - what's best for me.

It was fun, ... I just got back from junior camp, so to go from there to skating today was a big jump. But I found myself getting better after just an hour and a half.

It's pretty simple when you're playing with someone like that. You just give him the puck and get open. I think any guy who plays with him is excited to be out there with him.

It's a little frustrating, but it's hockey -- you go through skids and this happens to be a long one, but you have to look at it and see it's a long season, ... Once we get over this hump we'll be fine.

I expected the speed and the size of guys to be a little different than junior, and that I'd have to adapt to that. But as the first week's gone by, I think I feel pretty comfortable with that.

I realize there will not be another Gretzky, and I will be the first one to say I will not break his records, ... But for him to say that I could, it means I am doing something right. It was probably the best compliment I could get. I'm going to remember it.

Amid huge expectations, Crosby has delivered on his promise. He leads the Penguins and all NHL rookies with 19 points. Each night I'm focusing myself to play at this level, ... For me it's a matter of making sure that I push myself to raise my game to play here.

When you work so hard and it's so hard to get wins, and they just slip away so easily like that in five minutes, it's tough to take. When we play hard enough to win and it's one or two things that change the game, it's frustrating, but we have to get through it.

I was disappointed because I knew it was close, that I was in the mix. I have to realize it's up to me to earn another chance, though you don't know what's four years down the road. I still love getting up and going to the rink. I'm living my dream. I'm n

It's pretty easy. As someone new there, I can tell you that you start to love them, too. I've followed them a lot since I've gotten there.

Everything clicked. Everything was working together, and we did all the little things. We played with a lot of confidence.

I think that happens to everyone. I'm sure guys get mad and go after guys from time to time and might want to hurt them, and then later they feel they shouldn't have done that, but that's just the nature of the game.

I looked forward to it for a long time. It feels awesome. Yeah, I was happy. It's something you dream of, scoring in the NHL, and you only do it the first time once. It was big. There's a lot of emotion. The fans were great. It was so loud. I never expect

It's just tough to see him leave. He's had such an impact on the game. He's really got a passion for the game. I don't think anyone ever should have to deal with so much.

It's just frustrating losing, that's pretty much it. Either way, it (stinks) to lose. I thought we played better. We still have better in us. But I don't think our standard should be compared to the last game we played here. If we're trying to play better than that, it's not good. We have to play to our own level.

Despite growing half an inch since last season, Crosby is one of the smaller players in the Penguins' camp. But he is more concerned about his strength. I'm not happy with being average in that department, ... I lost some battles and that's going to happen. These guys are NHL players. If I can win more battles than I lose, I'll be a lot better.

As you learn to win, you learn sometimes when you're not on your best night to find ways to win or get points.

When you go through a time like we have, you go to basics. Get the puck at the net and play simple hockey, and try to get back (to winning) that way.

That caught him good. He had a bad back before that, and now, a shoulder. And with the way things were going, I'm sure he was just mentally and physically tired.

We believe in a lot of the same things. I'm interested to learn about anything, any way I can improve myself. And I think it's a two-way thing where he's trying to find things that interest the players and make it fun for them to improve.

You just get caught up in the game, ... You want to win, so you have to communicate, let guys know what you're thinking. And they have to let you know what they're thinking.

The way we played the other night, then to come here and play like that, it's pretty obvious we weren't playing the same way.

I'm very excited, ... It's been a long month and a lot of anticipation, and I'm definitely looking forward to getting on the ice every day.

We're playing solid hockey and not making too many very big mistakes. We're not giving up a lot of opportunities, and we have to continue to play like that.

We're all playing within our role and not worrying about results. When we do that everything seems to click, and that's been a big factor in us winning games.

I think we made it easy for them to play against us. We can't play many more games like we did tonight or else it's going to make the next games tough.

We played well. If we are all skating and working hard we will get opportunities. There were a lot of new faces and new combinations but the guys had a good attitude about it.

I don't think there's ever a time where I step back and say I wish I was something different. I'm doing what I love to do.

When a goalie is off for that long, you expect he might be a little rusty. Early on, he was giving out a few more rebounds than normal. If we had jumped on a few on those, it might have been different. As the game wore on, he seemed to get more comfortable and he was pretty solid back there.

I want to have a good season, but I don't think I'll look back on whether it's one point a game or whatever.

Anytime he's got a chance to make a play, he makes it. He finds the guy's stick, or he puts it in the net. Just to watch him tonight was really fun.

When you are playing from behind you start to panic sometimes and maybe take more penalties and you're not as confident. You don't want to make a mistake and give up that fourth one.

Going through two years of junior, it taught me a lot about myself, how I can handle it, ... You have to worry about hockey. Handle stuff outside of that when you need to, but just worry about hockey. That's what I learned.

Every time we played them this year, it has been brought up. I'm not going to lie, it was something that was lingering. It was nice to finally close that up.

It's tough losing the one and two-goal games and not having that extra bit we need to put us over the top and get the win. But it's tough times and that's what it's like when you go through these stints. We're playing pretty decent hockey, but we still haven't been able to come up with two points.
