    Reggie was one of those guys who represented all that is good about football and athletics. He was a man of great principle, who obviously carried his faith out front.     We're obviously chasing now, but you really don't have any choice if you want to have a chance to go and compete in a very hostile environment.

    Obviously this is a great day for the Tennessee Volunteers. These young men represent some of the finest football players in the country, and we're thrilled they have chosen to stay. Obviously it will greatly enhance the leadership on our football team.

    The only thing exciting that happened today on offense, he did. I thought the 50-yard catch, going up and getting it, is exactly what he can do. He needs to work with his hands to be consistent but I think that's just a matter of working and catching enough balls. He's got a great attitude that's what you love the most about him. He's out there trying to help the team any way he can.

    You can't blame this on one person. Everybody wants to say it's this person or that person. It's a combination of a lot of things and some you can fix hopefully in the short term and some it may take longer to get fixed.

    You keep waiting for that to happen, for Chris Hannon to come out of the pack, for Robert Meachem to come out of the pack. I hope they're all good.

    The clearinghouse issue hasn't been cleared up. It may be cleared up in two days, five days, six months, I don't know. If it's just a couple of days he could come right back, but if it's too long he'll have to wait and come in January.

    Erik is our quarterback right now, but we have two quarterbacks. Rick did a great job. It wasn't one of those clear-cut things.

    We're going to miss him in the locker room as a leader. I know Jason. He'll be around and part of what we're trying to do.

    I thought Erik had a good game except for the two sacks. I've been pleased with Jonathan Crompton for him to get into the huddle and verbalize the way he does and with his ability to throw with arm strength. That's been impressive.

    I want somebody to take the job and that be it. Quarterback is not a concern of mine. I don't think it's a concern of anybody else on this team or this staff.

    I was miserable during Christmas. I haven't had that as a head coach. I probably made everybody around me miserable.

    I don't know that we have been as dynamic offensively as I thought we would to this point.

    It's obvious that we really underachieved on offense last season. And everybody contributed, including me.

    David has done a good job correcting some of the fundamental things (with Ainge). Erik looks like he's more comfortable in the huddle. His game management has improved. He looks like a veteran quarterback.
