His message was that every game is tough and, yeah, we finished undefeated and, yeah, we won the national championship, but it wasn't easy. There were a lot of games where we battled back and had to show our mettle as a team. We still have to fight to beat people.

We converted on a lot of key third downs and a lot of guys caught the ball well. We just made some plays. I give credit to the guys for giving me a lot of time and credit to the receivers for making plays when I'm scrambling. Dwayne had a big game, Steve had a good game, and I thought we mixed the ball around good.

That's probably one of the greatest finishes ever, of all time, in college football history.

I don't have any regrets. We're champions. They just got us this night.

Every year, it gets harder. For me, personally, it's been harder. For the team, it's been harder. We showed what kind of team we are. We showed what kind of heart we have. It's been a great year, everything we could have ever expected.

We could be pretty scary. We could score a ton of points, probably average more than any SC team in the history of the school.

I enjoyed my talks with all the teams. In New Orleans, I had a good session with coach Payton and (general manager Mickey) Mr. Loomis. I don't know if they're really interested because they just got Drew. But in this situation, you never know what will happen.

I know a lot of teams question my arm strength. I've never questioned my arm strength. I think I've proven it in three years of playing with top-notch competition.

You just have to throw it up hope he gets it, ... I'll take my chances with (Jarrett) against anyone in the country. He made a play.

People treat you different. There's a lot more demands. I get a lot of attention everywhere I go, ... Other than that, it's been a great ride. I'm able to handle the pressure and expectations. I've never gotten a big head. It's a blessing what I've accomplished....(But) I'm still the same person.

I give him a 10 because he took off from far away.

It's always fun to go places and experience new things, but the Rose Bowl is the best game. This year, it works out great. It's so sweet the Rose bowl, the national championship game.

I know Ben pretty well. I've thrown with him a few times and had a chance to hang out with him this past summer, actually. I'm happy for him. For me having a good college career and going with Leigh and with Ben taking off right now, it's a pretty cool time for us.

There's so much uncertainty, I don't even pay attention to what they're saying anymore.

I wasn't the least bit surprised, ... I thought he deserved it. The team is your worst critics, your best critics. They voted for him. I thought it was awesome.

Whoa, ... Maybe my life really isn't normal.

We still think we're a better football team. We just couldn't make the plays.

He's doing a great job, ... He's one of the top quarterbacks in the country. He's proven it with his stats.

It's either you go for the win and be the hero or you do it and you don't make it and you kind of second-guess yourself,

It's difficult, it doesn't matter how you lose. We still feel like we're champions. What we've accomplished the last three years will probably never be done.

When you've got a freakish athlete like Vince Young who threw the ball on the money all night, ran the ball and pretty much was their whole offense, it's tough to tackle a guy like that.

If we can win one more game, then we can make a pretty good argument.

It would have changed my decision if they would have brought in a new guy, ... They brought Sark back. That was enough for me.

Who knows what can happen I watched a lot of (Texas') games during the season, and Vince is just a freakish athlete. He's big and fast, and those are hard to find. He showed what he's capable of doing. I think highly of him and wish him all the best.

He's excited about the possibility of me possibly being there (with the Jets), but he said he doesn't have much control of that situation.

One of the great finishes in the history of college football.

You don't think at those times. You just do it. It's man on man. Get in the end zone or go home,

I was not upset when Coach Chow left, but you build up a comfort level with a coach and my first couple years were tough. My last couple years with him were great. We developed a personal relationship. We talked about all sorts of things. Once Coach Chow left, I was like, I'm happy for him. I still keep in contact with him.

I don't ever regret my decision. I don't think twice about it.

Right now we're right where I hoped we were going to be when I made my decision. But I feel like this has been the best time of my life, these last four or five years, and Wednesday is kind of the culmination.

There's something special going on here that I didn't want to give it up.

Everyone thinks we're going to beat everybody by so many points, ... That's not how college football works.

Positive. Most people don't know this about me, because I never talked about it it's not something football players want to get around the locker room. But as a kid, I'd watch Fred Astaire movies with my mom and dad and I'd think, 'If I could be him, I'd be the happiest man in the world.' Sure, I wanted a shot at another national championship, but the real reason I stayed an extra year in school was to take that ballroom dancing class to see if it was for me. And it was.

I just saw it, I thought it was there and I just wanted to get in, ... I didn't want to spike the ball so I made the choice and they were looking down from up above and we got in. That was all that mattered.

I love watching quarterbacks run. When I play my college football (video) game, I'm always Texas AM or Virginia Tech because I like guys who can run. I'm obviously not one of those guys who do that.

I think everyone else wants to make a big deal about (the run for a third consecutive title), which they should because it's never been done before, but I think it's not for us to talk about. Why are we going to talk about it if we haven't done anything Maybe we can talk about it after the game, if we win. Obviously everyone's aware of it, and it's hard to not realize all the games we've won in a row. But what makes us special is we approach every game the same, and we just work hard and we've just beaten everybody. We don't get caught up in all the other stuff.

Deep inside, ... we were kind of a little bummed, I think.

I won it last year and he deserved to win it. Obviously, his play on the field shows why he's the best college football player in the country. Playing really big in the big games and becoming more of a leader, he's a perfect description of a Heisman Trophy winner.

It's just amazing how he's improved from game 1 to game 12. I think he's going to be one of the greatest receivers of all time. He's only a freshman at USC and just a phenomenal talent, just big, athletic and fast.

You can really notice it, ... He's always wanted to be a running back first. His role this year has definitely expanded. He can run between the tackles.

I actually just watched the film the other day, kind of analyzing and critiquing it. I didn't even watch the last two series. I just ended it that way.
