    He's had a real productive spring and we have great hopes for his future.

    This is good for our program. I think any time you play the Pac-10, the kids get fired up, and the fans really enjoy it. Our kids will play hard, and it will be good for them to play at home.

    (Washington) played some running back in high school, and he can play it for us, too.

    I'm going to save the evaluation of Kenny for later. We'll add more (plays) and his head will be swimming again, but he's done a good job of fighting through it. As soon as he gets it down he'll be really ready to turn it on.

    We're just waiting on the NCAA appeal process. They can practice while they're in limbo. So hopefully we'll get good news shortly.

    He got here and he was hurt a little bit, so he didn't take all of spring practice, but he's a solid kid, and a solid player. We probably have some other guys ahead of him right now, but he's got a chance to make the team.

    We are looking forward to the upcoming season. We start off with a great non-conference opponent in Alabama and then come home to play UNLV before we begin the WAC season.

    We want to play the guys down the line (on the depth chart). We want to give them one last shot.

    You always just take what you get when it comes to conference games. We have four home games at the end of the season and that's a plus. Hopefully we'll be in a position to make those count.

    It's hard to replace them. But you know what USC doesn't worry about us replacing them so we better grow up and play.

    We're not as healthy as we need to be, but we're ready to play. We have a lot of guys hurt, banged up, and we're still not sure who may play and who may not.

    That could happen, but they need to show they're taking care of what they need to do in the classroom.

    They (won't) send us their tape. Also, they put the word out that it was us that didn't want to (exchange videos), which was not true. We've been waiting to send ours and talk to their video guy.

    It's good news, but he's probably not going to be back this year. Unfortunately, he's going to miss the season, probably. We'll see how it pans out if we have a bowl or something. Maybe (then) he'll have a chance to get back out there.

    We have meetings on the pre-game music.

    His attitude is more than just infectious. He goes to war for you out on that field as a brother, teammate and family member.

    That's pretty awesome. I didn't have any idea this was happening, Herman handles all of that and does a good job. But that's pretty good. Playing any Pac-10 school is great for the university.

    We can get what we need off of (a TV copy), but it's not the same.

    We're going to be in a little bit of a rebuilding mode, but I think we have some talented players to fill in at certain spots. But until those guys mature in ball games, you really don't know what you have, especially at quarterback and receiver.

    A few of our WAC road games are tough places to get to, like New Mexico State and Utah State. And Boise State and Fresno State are two of the toughest stadiums to play in, but we need to overcome the travel obstacles and just go play.

    I think we're going to have some good young offensive linemen and I like the intensity up front of the defense.
