John Bunting Quotes (61 Quotes)

It's time. Arthur played a couple of plays the other day, and he's going to be playing much more significantly this week. He's been in our program a long time. He's a very bright kid, he's an intense kid, he's a great team player, and now is his chance to go out and play some football.

This team played with a lot of emotion today and kind of got kicked in the gut in that third quarter. It's a shame.

I found out I don't have to worry about the quarterback, ... We need to find a way to run the ball. We did not run very well.

I was looking at the scoreboard all night, ... You can really get mesmerized by that thing. It goes on and the fireworks continue to go off (after each score). I thought at one point they might run out of fireworks. That's a big number and, basically, I'm numb at this point.

Offensively when we had a chance to go out there after it was 14-14 at the half, I thought we would start moving the ball, but they snuffed us. They just stuffed us and stuffed us, and we couldn't convert anything.

We got a really late start on him, ... And I asked if the other guy didn't accept, would he still accept our scholarship offer And he said, 'Absolutely.'

For me to sit there and tell that the tip of the nose of the football is way up too high to (punter) David Wooldridge, that took him coaching me to learn how to do that,

I'll give Georgia Tech all the credit in the world, but we had a chance to win at the end.

That is the time of day that we like to play.

Sometimes it almost seems like John Bunting plans these things. He'd been asked a question about freshman Garrett White Thursday after practice and was bragging on the rookie from Miami. He has one of the greatest attitudes as a freshman I've ever been around, ... He has a smile on his face all the time. He bounces around, and he wants to do whatever he can do to get on the field to help us. He's a linebacker and he's now playing the DPR' (Designated Pass Rusher) position.

He's a clavicle buster, ... He's going to beat you up. You better make most of those tackles near the line of scrimmage.
