He could never find a spot to drop in after breaking from the outside but I don't think it was a disadvantage. Churchill was very deep and the other horses had worked out over it. I just think he ran out of training in those last 50 yards.

The fact that the Connally is another graded race helped with the owners' decision to send him.
He was in a very good position, tracking. And when Robby called on him, he just exploded. To have a horse like him in the barn is a treat.
