We never had any rhythm. In the second half the defense was much better and we cut into it a little bit. But when you spot a team (19) points, and that team has Kobe, you know eventually during your run that he is going to make a shot.

He's just been engaged. We've been engaged with him. Mark and I, we've had a couple of good conversations this summer one right before the season started. Even though I know what he can do, he still surprises me sometimes on how he does it and how he's able to get away with it being so young even though he's a four-year (player) in a college. I had no intentions of playing him. I didn't think he wanted to play. But he ran into my office with his shoes in his hands saying he was ready to go. The only reason I played him was because he was starting at me every freaking time out. I told the coaches, we have to put him in, or he's going to drive me nuts.

We're trying to run more stuff, and more importantly down the stretch you can see we were just trying to create stuff on the fly. Every time there was a break, I had to bring Wally over.
