I basically told them you are already down 31, let's see where we can go from there. Let's see if we can close the gap a little bit. You start off embarrassing them. Then for the rest of the time all you do is try to build up their confidence.

If I dignified that, (Bill) Parcells and (Bill) Belichick would just humiliate me. I've played two games. Really I've just coached two games. Let's come back and revisit that about 10 years from now.

Everyone thinks that they're the reason why you lost. I think that when you win a big game like that, it's a team win. Well, when you lose, it's a team loss, and I don't want any one person feeling responsible for losing that game. I think that would be totally out of line.

He has a matter that he has to clear up. If and when he clears that up, he'll be playing.

So at least now there's evidence after only two games that all three of them are capable of playing well. So now the important thing is going to be to strive to get all three of those in sync, all playing well at the same time. That's easier said than done, but because there's evidence that it can be done, now my expectations go up.

They are out of the coach's box and they are calling time-outs with no time-outs left, ... Now that's a penalty and that alone puts them out of touchdown scoring range and to field goal range.

After the game we just played, ... would anyone not vote for Reggie

His goal every game starts with being able to dominate on the line of scrimmage as a blocker because a tight end's job is to be an extension of the offensive line. This offense is not one where the tight end is detached all over the place and just running routes as a receiver. It all starts with a run-pass threat, and I think Anthony has been one of our most consistent players the entire season.

I trust Bill Lewis and his teaching, his leadership and the way he handles the players. The players have a lot of trust in Bill Lewis.

But if it went the way it was designed to go it might have been a walk-in touchdown. Because it was not run the right way, it was my fault.

We definitely spent a good amount of time watching that,

There's plenty of opportunity for constructive criticism. It will give us an opportunity to clear up a lot of the things that went wrong.

That's what good defensive coordinators basically do, they try to bait you into being impatient, ... You need to have a lot of mental discipline to play that game. Usually someone breaks down before it's all said and done.

I can't tell you how many times you sit in a draft room and people say 'what kind of tight end is he' because there are very few guys that can block and catch. You can count them on one hand.

If they're nickel-and-diming you, and getting 5 and 10 (yards), you can live with it and say they're physically kicking your butt, when you give up that many big plays, that was disappointing.

This was a slugfest a street fight, ... If you're waiting for me to say it was a good loss, you won't hear that here. Losing is losing. There are no moral victories.

The way I look at it is he's fought 90 times and he's a Golden Glove guy, it's a four-round fight and it's a lot of money. I think I'd be doing a disservice to the kid if I didn't give him the opportunity.

If you were in that meeting, you'd be worrying about fixing those problems, ... I think as long as you understand what the problems are and you believe they can be fixed, then you have a chance.

I can't let them feel too good about themselves because we play Saturday against a team that's definitely gotten the best of this rivalry the past bunch of years.

Weis Guy We've got a bigger man crush on Charlie Weis by the day -- in a wholesome sort of way. He wins, he's accountable, and he's refreshing.
