We ran the fastest lap time that day which was cool. I'm really optimistic about our chances there.

    I laughed and I scraped it off. Then I thought that would be a great idea, to get somebody to go to everybody's house and write 'Go Carl Edwards, No. 99.'

    I think from the outside, things look worse than they are. But those of us on the teams and working on it everyday know how close we have all been to having a completely different season up to this point. You get in an accident that wasn't your fault. Or get caught speeding down pit road. Or have a mechanical problem that wasn't really anyone's doing. Every team is going to have their share of those types of things before the year is over with. If it does, then everything will balance out, and we'll be back in it in no time.

    It's obviously one of the most prestigious races you could participate in. ... To win it, I don't even know how big it would be. I think it would rank right there with a win at the Daytona 500. I know our guys would really enjoy it and it would mean a lot to everyone on the AAA team. For me, as a driver, it would just be the coolest thing in the world.

    Can you believe that I'm having a great time. I hit the wall yesterday and the guys didn't complain a bit. They just put the car back together and it was great. That was the best car I've had in a long time.

    That would be unbelievable. I don't know how probability works. Every time you go to the race track you have the same chance of winning no matter how you performed in the past, so I'm trying not to think about what happened before -- just go out and do the same thing we did the first time and the second time and if we get the same result, man, that would be unbelievable.

    I talked to Brad at pretty great length last night. Brad and I have never had a cross word. I was over at his house with the whole crew the other night. I believe it was just differing opinions over the best way to do things at the shop.

    It helped me a bunch of ways. The first thing was I got to race more. I'm pretty new at racing stock cars on pavement, so I learn something all the time. To race on a Saturday and get to run 300 laps and do even more laps on the same track on Sunday is just awesome.

    You know there's only four guys I'd trade with right now in the garage, points-position wise. So, I think we're doing OK. We'll make something happen here.

    With the exception of Kurt Busch , who was involved in an accident, Carl Edwards was the only Chase driver who didn't finish in the top eight at New Hampshire. Today was pretty ugly, ... I'm not sure what was going on.

    It would be more than I deserve at this point in my career, ... It was one of our goals heading into the season, but honestly at this point I don't expect it. It would be great, don't get me wrong, but if it doesn't happen I'm not going to get upset. There are a million reasons we shouldn't make it, looking back.
